The Solution: Thinking less and relying on data more

WISP Solutions offers a future-ready solution that dynamically adjusts traffic signals using real-time data from connected vehicles. This sort of data is easier and cheaper to gather and extrapolate rather than using the typical vehicle sensors. Their platform continuously optimizes traffic flow, reducing idling and delays while prioritizing vehicles of choice, whether emergency responders or buses and shuttles. Their solution optimizes traffic light systems, reduces congestion, and supports flow of public transportation, all while cutting emissions.

In Action: Making the Paris Olympics Move Smoother

WISP Solutions is currently actively optimizing traffic on intersections in Spain, France, Italy, and Slovakia. However, one of their most complex deployments was during the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024. This is one of the busiest times, with some of the biggest intricacies introduced to the road organization, with thousands of people to be transported at all times.

WISP Solutions was tasked with optimizing intersections for Olympic shuttles transporting spectators as well as athletes, and the project had to be deployed in sprint speed, because in under a month. The results were immediate and impressive: shuttle speeds increased by +2 km/h, arrival/departure times proved to be reliable, thus letting the athletes focus on the sport performance rather than on shuttle delays, and general traffic flow remained stable. In an extremely high-stakes, high-traffic environment, WISP Solutions proved that its system could perform under pressure moving large numbers of people efficiently and earning positive feedback from the users of the shuttles, and city traffic managers, so everyone involved.
