After 3 years developing our innovative technology combining all cellular, Wi-Fi, and satellite networks into a perfect internet solution, summer 2024 has marked the start of our commercial activities.
Things are moving really fast, and we are onboarding customers beyond our initial expectations (that’s what happens when great tech and honest pricing meet the needs of the market)!
If we ask our business development and commercial teams, they’ll tell you that the most interesting realization is that customers are coming to us with use cases that we had not thought about ourselves. And it’s refreshing to see how those “inbound” use cases can become a very significant part of our story; take a read at this:
Stellar is focusing on delivering perfect internet to the mobility and automotive markets, so our focus has always been on reaching out to customers with MOVING vehicles: we help them with seamless transition in and out of the multiple connectivity gaps their vehicles encounter, avoiding any disruption of service. Well, it turns out that inside those same connectivity gaps there can be thousands of devices that are in need to be connected, and – despite them being stationary by definition - they serve the mobility needs to the fullest. This is the case of smart traffic lights, public transport electronic timetables, advertising billboards, and Electric Vehicles (EV) charging stations, just to name a few.
EV charging stations represent a particularly interesting use case, as a key friction to the user experience is the lack of connectivity: without internet, no real-time information on the available charging slots nor payments are possible.
Looking at our deployment timeline and signed commercial commitments, we can very proudly say that over 30,000 EV charging stations will be equipped with Stellar’s innovations by the end of 2025 already.
It’s also important to keep looking at the big picture, so to ensure correct dimensioning of our expectations: in Europe alone, there are today roughly 750,000 public charging points, and the EV deployment targets require a total of 8.8 million EV charging points to be installed by 2030. And that’s excluding all the residential chargers. So yes, the market is large enough and certainly deserves our commercial attention and push.
